Teign School hold Race for Life this National Schools Sports Week

Teign School have held a Race for Life during National Schools Sports Week this term.   

 

Over 100 students took part in the Race for Life to fundraise for Cancer Research UK, raising  £1000!  The race is an annual event organised by the schools PE department and the students wholeheartedly embrace it.  This year there was music, helium balloons and a blow up obstacle course at the finish. 

 

Cancer Research UK is the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research.  They fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.  Anyone who would like to donate to the school’s Just Giving Page can do so here. 

 

Teign School is known for its focus on PE and was recently awarded the School Games Gold Mark.  Keira Wylie, the Head of PE at Teign School was also shortlisted for Secondary Subject Leader of the Year at this month’s TES Schools Awards.
