Pupil Premium & Year 7 Catch Up

At Teign School we believe every child should have the opportunity to learn, celebrate achievement and be ready for the world. This includes having opportunities to participate in all aspects of school life. We recognise that some students eligible for additional Pupil Premium Funding face challenges and we aim to support students and their families in overcoming some of these issues in order to ensure students make excellent progress.

Our practice is aimed at providing excellent teaching which focuses on raising attainment and closing the gaps between disadvantaged students and non-disadvantaged students.

Pupil Premium funding is allocated by the government to schools to those students eligible for Free School Meals in the last six years and for those children of parents in the Armed Services. The funding can be used by schools to implement effective packages which raise the attainment of disadvantaged students. This may include disadvantaged students who do not qualify for Free School Meals.

Below are two documents setting out our plan to support disadvantaged students. The Tiered Support document identifies the specific elements in place to raise attainment at a Teaching; Specific and Wider Strategy level. The Review Document shows current Pupil Premium data and target setting including costing projections.
